I try not to be a sucker for advertising.

But if something looks as good as the bar on the box pictured at the left…well, who am I to resist?

Kathy and I were walking through the store and there were those Chex Mix Bars, marked down and looking delicious.

So we gave them a go.

They were well-received by everyone in the house…a rarity these days.

Basically, it’s like if a Rice Krispies Treat was made from Chex Mix.

Peanut butter, chocolate, pretzels, Chex, I think there’s some marshmallow in there holding it all together? There’s something of a marshmallow consistency in there making it all sticky. But I challenge you to find one bad ingredient from what I listed.

I understand it’s not the healthiest thing…but I’ve been doing such a good job of eating more healthfully that I have allowed myself the opportunity to have this little treat every now and then.

I do have a little bit of control - I never have more than one a day, and sometimes I go every other day between bars.

This is the exact type of thing ‘trying new things’ in 2025 is made for.

If I see something I think I might like, it’s worth trying at least once.

But this one has turned into a more-than-once situation.

It’s the type of thing we’ll enjoy for a little while and probably get over quickly.

But for now we’re in the enjoying stage and I’m OK with living in that space for a little while.
