2025 Week 13 To-Do

This is the entranceway between our dining room and living room.

There must be a word for that space other than ‘entranceway’ (overhang?) but it’s not one that I’m familiar with.

That’s not the point.

The point is, it’s empty.

That’s another sign around here that it’s late March.

Beginning in December, that wood - both sides of it - is increasingly populated by Christmas cards.

They’re a nice thing to keep up through the long winter months.

They stay for a few months, and then when the time feels right I start taking them down.

And that’s usually around Opening Day - and this year it was earlier this week.

It’s never really planned…but when it’s time it’s time.

Here’s what’s coming up this week:

This Week’s To Do

  • I need to Finalize the April Menu. Planning the monthly menu has worked out great for me…and I think it’s been good for everyone else too.

  • It’s a heavy week for the Adjunct Work. Might actually be a pretty heavy month-plus in that department. A flurry of grading to end the semester, and then starting up again for a summer class that begins in early May.

  • I think I’ll try to Take It Easy this week too. I feel like I’ve been trying to catch up on sleep since the emergency room night and I can use some relaxing time. I had a little bit yesterday but it’ll be good to continue slowing down a little bit.

This Week’s May Do

  • I re-ordered AppleTV to watch the Mets on Friday night, and now that I have it I’ll Watch The Second Season of Shrinking. That’s a definite - though it won’t happen this week. Maybe I’ll start it. I also might re-watch Ted Lasso and who knows maybe I’ll see what all this Severance hype is about.

  • I have not painted downstairs yet but I think I need to start small - maybe this week I’ll just Prep The Walls. I have to take some stuff down and move some stuff around to make it all more accessible and ready to paint, so maybe I’ll just start there this week.

Let’s see what happened last week, and as always you can click here to read last week’s To-Do List in more detail:

Last Week’s To Do

  • Man. MLB.TV was down for the first inning and a half of the Mets. (And an hour before that.) I was so mad. But I got to watch most of the Mets opener and then I watched them all weekend long.

  • Everything with the car went smoothly.

  • A pretty easy few days of solo parenting. It gets easier and easier the older these girls get.

Last Week’s May Do

  • Did not paint downstairs. Was tempted to take it off the list this week but I adjusted to more realistic goals.
